Didim is a small town on a penisula in the south-west of Turkey. It's main beach being called Altinkum which literally means Golden Sand.
Altinkum is a friendly resort and you will find the locals 'laid back' and relaxed in their attitude towards tourists. You will get to know them quickly and they will enjoy nothing better than chatting over a glass of Turkey's famous apple tea. Don't be surprised if you return year after year to visit your newfound friends!
Altinkum provides an excellent beach life with various water sports available for the more active or pedal boats for those who prefer the pace of life a bit slower. After a swim in the inviting turquoise blue Aegean you can relax on the many available sunbeds soaking-up the golden rays or shaded by one of the umbrellas which are available for rent.
Didim also has a local street market where you can buy fresh natural product every Saturday or if you prefer you can shop in one of the many supermarkets.
Didim is also only 50kms from the town of Soke which is a small non-touristic town or just a few kilometers more from the touristic centres of Kusadasi and Bodrum. The easy to use public transport system makes day-trips to these centers are definite possible.
